President Opens Five State Universities, Including University Musamus Merauke



President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono inaugurated the five public universities RI border areas with neighboring countries from Cendrawasih University Auditorium Building (Uncen) in Abepura, Jayapura, Papua, on Monday.

Five State University which was inaugurated by President Yudhoyono of Jayapura is Musamus Merauke University, the University of Borneo Tarakan, University of Bangka Belitung, Polytechnic of Babylon and the Batam Polytechnic, where all the leaders were attending college in Uncen and watched it.

The inauguration of the five colleges was done after giving a public lecture for the students as well as opening the Student Executive Board meeting after the archipelago on the ground.

Inauguration of the High Court which five new college was marked by the signing directly by President Yudhoyono in five inscriptions that witnessed the whole entourage and invitations as well as leaders of BEM as the present archipelago.

President Yudhoyono said in his speech, the inauguration of five new colleges of this State which is a form of government attention to education is one of the main factors of progress of the nation.

"At the same time would be a means of increasing the Human Resources (HR) for communities in the border area are home to universities themselves," he said.

The President explained that education is the basic capital of a nation's progress and development toward better. He pointed out that South Korea in five years ago are still classified as developing countries, but currently has status as a developed country.

"It's all because of the advancement of education there. Successfully creating quality human resources and reliable and able to compete and build their country," the President said.

Minister of National Education, Mochammad Noah, saying that all new college was inaugurated, it must be given if Uncen which became the opening, so that going forward there should always be mutual coordination and cooperation between universities in question.

Cenderawasih University (UNCEN) was established on 10 November 1962 in New Haven (now Jayapura) based on the joint decision of WAMPA / Coordinator for West Irian affairs and Minister of PTIP Number: 140/PTIP/1962 and approved by decision of the President of the Republic of Indonesia No. 389 of 1962. The history of the founding of the University of Pattimura began when several community leaders took the initiative to establish a Higher Education institution in the Moluccas which was started by an educational leader, Dr.. J. B. Sitanala (deceased). Dr. J. B. Sitanala is a doctor, an instrumental figure in the Moluccas in the areas of society in urnumnya and education in particular. Initiatives taken to realize the aspirations of the people who participated in the development of the Nation, especially in the field of Higher Education and Development of Science. To realize the lofty ideals that formed a Foundation of Higher Education Maluku West Papua on 20 July 1955, which is chaired by Mr. Cornelis Loppies.


On October 3, 1956 The Foundation was successful in establishing the Faculty of Law, which was then set as the date of birth Pattimura University. The next row of Social and Political Faculty founded on October 6, 1959, and dated 10 September 1961 opened the Faculty of Teacher Training and Science Education.

Then on September 15, 1965 Faculty of Economics and opened on 16 April 1970 opened the Faculty of Engineering buildings that utilize the former Faculty of Technology project Ambon (FTA). Up Education System

In line with the new paradigm of higher education, providing education at the State University of Makassar embrace student-oriented approach. In its management, quality becomes the main reference is supported by the autonomy, accountability, accreditation, and evaluation. Type of education held by the State University of Makassar is the education of Academic, Professional Education and Professional Education.

Education System

Providing education at the State University of Makassar embrace Semester Credit System (SKS) is preparing an education management system using the semester credit units to declare a study load of students, faculty workload, learning experience, and program administration expenses. This system allows students to plan their education according to interests and abilities. For students required to fill out this planning study plan (KRS) established by the leaders of the Faculty.

Semester is a unit of work time activity consisting of 16 to 19 weeks of classes or other scheduled activities, following iringannya activities, including 2 to 3 weeks of assessment activities.
Semester credit unit is a measure respect for the learning experience acquired during a semester through scheduled activities per week was 1 hour 2 hours of lectures or lab work, or 4 hours of fieldwork, each accompanied by about 1 - 2 hours of structured activities and approximately 1 - 2 hours of independent activities.

Lambung Mangkurat University was established on the initiative and the services of the Republic of Indonesian freedom fighters in South Kalimantan, namely, those who on May 17, 1949 proclaimed the Government of the Military Governor of Division IV ALRI Borneo, under the leadership of the Military Governor Hasan Basry, as an effort to uphold its independence. Inauguration Unlam Organization's Linux Club

Snmptn UNDANA

University of Nusa Cendana or abbreviated UNDANA is one of the state universities geographically located in regional/provincial areas of Indonesia and Undana is located in the city of Kupang, West Timor, the capital city of the province of East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. It is the only state university located at the extreme south-east of Indonesia. It is srategically positioned at the Pacific rim and closest to neighbouring Australia, New Zealand, and Democratic Republic of Timor Leste.

Since its establishment in 1962, Undana has now prevailed with 8 faculties containing 38 Departments and 40 study programmes as well as a postgraduate program with 5 master degree study programmes. Undana has; over 800 lecturers, over 13,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students and over 400 supporting staff. After its 46th anniverssary on 1 September 2008, Undana has produced nearly 32,000 graduates; over 70% of whom are working at the public services in the province as well as in 20 districts within the province of NTT. Many of them are currently holding management positions; which made Undana proud of its standing in the region. However, by comparison to other universitis in Java and other countries in south east Asia, we realised that we have only prevailed mostly in teaching and has yet to play a significant role in the areas of research, and development as well as community services. Almost all research results attained by students and lecturers have not reached developmental stages towards practical application. This is the hardest part of existence especially when this university eventually becomes an autonomous higher education institution in not too distant future.
It is a great challenge to build Undana in various areas to achieve its objectives. Cooperation, network and support from central, provincial and district governments as well as from very well establsihed higher education institutions in-country and more importantly from overseas such as from universities/research centres in Japan and other countries in Asia, United States, European Union member countries, Canada, Australia and New Zealand is essential to accelerate the process of becoming a more independent and well-respected university at both national and international scene.

Snmptn UNRAM

University of Mataram, Unram abbreviated, is a public university located in Mataram, Indonesia, established on October 1, 1962. Rector in 2006 was Prof.. Ir. H. Ma'shum Mansur, Ph.D.

University of Mataram (Unram) is a college organized under the Ministry of National Education, based in Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara Province. The process begins with the founding of the University of Mataram formation of the Preparatory Committee for Establishment of the State University of Mataram PTIP based on Ministerial Decree number 89/62 dated June 26, 1962. The committee is chaired by the Head of the Provincial Governor of NTB, namely R. Ar. Moh. Ruslan tjakraningrat. This then formed the preparatory committee of the Preparatory Committee, which consists of two parts, namely Part Core (Governor, Danrem, Police Chief, and Head of Branch High Attorney) and Section Operator (Section Lessons chaired by Drs. Soeroso, MA and Materials Section is chaired by Sadili Sastrawidjaja , SH). Agency This preparation resulted in two main proposals are:

a. Establishment of Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Animal Husbandry, and faculty who produce agronomist

b. Alternative name of the University: Sangkareang or MATARAM.

Under the proposal forwarded by the Preparatory Committee of the Preparatory Committee, established establishment located in the State University of Mataram, by the Decree of the Minister of PTIP No. 139/62 dated 3 November 1962. Until one year after the publication of the decree, none of the activities marking the proper functioning of the university, so that at the request of the Governor, on November 17, 1963 Education Foundation Sangkareang Faculty of Economics, which is expected to open later would become one of the faculty at the State University of Mataram.

Establishment of the Preparatory Committee of Mataram University on December 7, 1963 disbanded because their duties have otherwise been completed. On December 19, 1963 Education Foundation handed Sangkareang Faculty of Economics, founded with 41 students to the Governor for further inaugurated by the Minister of PTIP. At the moment this is officially the State University of Mataram began their activities. Based on this in the early days of commemorating the Anniversary of the University of Mataram on December 19. But after a series of processes are closely watched re-establishment determined later that the anniversary falls on every October 1.

Udayana University was established by the Act of Minister of Higher Education Republic of Indonesia No.104/1962, on 9th of Agustus 1962. It was after being an initial period as part of Airlangga University since 29 September 1958. So that making it the first university to be established in Bali Province. With 4 courses in 1962, Udayana University has developed a wide range of courses in Arts and Literatures, Medical Sciences, Law, Economy, Engineering, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Veterinary Sciences, Agricultural Technology, Public Health, and Tourism Studies.

Nias Campus

Jl. Nias was the original campus of Udayana University which was established in 1958. The most opulent of this campus is the fabulous statue of Saraswati, the goddess of knowledge, a monument to love science and technology. It is now home for Faculty of Letters and and Postgraduate Programs (Master and Doctorate) of Cultural Studies.

Sudirman Campus

Sudirman campus is in the heart of Denpasar, located within easy distance of major sights of the city. It is home for Postgraduate Programs and Medical Sciences Faculty.

The early days of the campus saw field of Palm trees planted along the front corridor, so that making the campus known as “Campus of Palm” or in Bahasa called “Kampus Palma”.

The campus has grown in number and facilities. This includes GDLN, an information and communication technology facilities to assist with our work and strengthen the connections with. which allows all university member to access distance tutorial and conference

Bukit Jimbaran Campus

Built in 1986, this is relatively a new campus, and is now the largest of Udayana’s three campuses. It is designed like a town. Facilities include health clinic, university library, sport centre, post office, guesthouse and university housing. While, International hospital, shopping centre, lake and leisure facilities are being made available soon.

The campus is within easy reach from Ngurah Rai International Airport and major tourism sites of Kuta and Nusa Dua.
